This week’s choice wasn't easy because the photo page was flooded with tons of great pics, but this one stood out to me because of its cool warped perspective:

Because track and field doesn't involve a whole lot of collisions or unexpected action (unless your watching novice steeplechase from the water pit) it's hard to get shots that don't look exactly like the hundred other shots of someone running around a track. Field events are usually more dynamic, but they are still usually pretty predictable and similar-looking.

That being said, the visually problematic predictable action in track and field forces photographers to get creative with their shots and make something routine look fresh. This photographer has put a unique spin what would be an ordinary javelin throw shot by using a super-wide angle fish eye lens instead of the usual telephoto. The fish eye lens is so wide that creates a bubbled-out distortion effect that makes it look like you're looking through a peephole. Way cool. Nice find Katrina!
